Our guest for Episode 23, Anthony Tammaro, creates amazing 3D printed jewelry, some of which you can see on Shapeways.com, and now we’re doing a contest folks, a necklace design contest. First of the New Year and FIRST for EvD.
Design the coolest necklace you can imagine, upload it to Shapeways with the tag ‘EVD’, and the winner will have their design printed (up to $200) by Shapeways and also snag a EvD t-shirt.
Sorry Anthony, no entry from you, as you get to judge the contest.
Here are those steps again:
- Upload your model at Shapeways.com
- Tag it with the word EVD
Deadline:
We’ll keep it going till we get at least one entry, or January 31st.
So, let’s see what you’ve got! Hit Anthony’s website and Shapeways.com for some inspiration and upload those models!

So the necklace shown above uses two materials. Shapeways doesn’t currently print more than one material at a time. What are the rules for the design in the competition – one material or more per model?
Great question, Glenn. If your design includes multiple parts, as long as they can all be printed by Shapeways for under $200, it’s fine if it requires mulutiple uploads to achieve the required ‘bag of parts’. Just be sure to include an image of the assembled product.

A little inspiration…

Has the winner been announced? I saw some of the EVD tagged models on Shapeways and would like to know.

Yes! We apologize. The winner was announced. We announced it in the latest episode with Brad Peebler. The winner is Stijn van der Linden and the ‘go with the flow’ necklace!
